Ok. They say that stealing is the best form of flattery. I guess I'm not really stealing Click and Comment Monday as who really owns such an idea? Who came up with it first? Got me. I'm sure somebody knows. But, it is something I like to do, though I'm not always on time and since it's Wednesday and not Monday, we'll just call it Click and Comment Wednesday.
It's a great solution if you're having writer's block and can't think of what to post on. Spend an hour or two clicking through blogs and reading posts. For me it's almost like a stream of conciousness exercise as you'll be amazed at the path of topics and posts you'll come across clicking from one blog to another. Writing should always follow reading. Reading is to writing like stretching is to running.
Another great reason to regularly click and comment is that you become a part of the larger blogosphere/internet, and people will come across your comments and come check out your site in return if they like what you say. So don't just click on random blogs and throw in a "Hey great site" comment, take some time and try to add something to the discussion. If a post has 20 comments, which ones are you going to click on? The "Hey nice site! My site: http:blah.blah.blah" or the thoughtful contributing ones? The thoughtful contibutors - duh! Most likely their sites are going to be like their comments - thought out.
Anyways - take some time, catch up on some reading, have a conversation.
Totally unrelated: Spider Pig, Spider Pig, Doing what a Spider Pig does. Hah! That's the funniest crap I've seen in a while - I can't wait to see the Simpsons movie. And just in case you're bored and have an hour or four to kill - the movie site is awesome. You can play games or even create your own Simpson's character like mine below...check it out.
